Easy Peasy Refried Beans & 'Bacon'

I simply steamed these beans and they were ready in minutes. SOOOO simple and delish! These are not high in fat or a mushy paste, seriously... fresh 'refried' beans are the best!

NOTE, soaking then cooking your beans well (not soft and mushy) makes a BIG difference to gassiness, digestion, nutrient absorption etc! Learn more here!


Ingredients!

  • 2 cups cooked Black Beans

  • 1/2 tsp Chili Flakes and Garlic - if you like heat

  • 2 Tbsp Epicure Better than Bacon (Vegan Bacon)

  • 1 Tbsp Epicure Smoky Roasted Tomato (Nutritional Yeast and Vegan Bacon)

  • 1 tsp 3 Onion

  • 1/2 tsp Salt

  • Water as needed to achieve your desired texture

  • 1/2 a lime

Put all ingredients except lime in your Epicure Steamer, use your Ground Meat Separator to break up the beans a bit. Warm 2 mins. Squeeze on fresh lime. If you've got Mango Lassie, add a tsp, cause why not!?

GFRR Perfectly Balanced Meal - I cup prepared Beans, 2-3cups of greens/veg, 1/2 cup starch! I added butter to my corn as my healthy fat.
